Annual dancing on fire (Anastenaria) taking place in a village nearby Salonica. A very old custom and very famous in Greece. A lot of people visit from Salonica to see the event.
A week before the celebration of Saint John of Russia, the church of Saints Constantine and Helen also celebrates. A litany takes place around the village and food and dancing follows soon after.
This customs takes place twice a year in the Historic Town of Missolonghi. This is the summer one, which is much more crowded than the winter one and lasts for three consecutive days.
